![]() Short version, you and your fellow gamers are given different roles on a sub. It's a very unique game and I believe it could be quite fun. I've played this once with my normal group. Problem there is if you want to use a computer, just play Silent Hunter 3.Įdit: looks like someone programed something based on AH's Submarine if you'd like to see how it plays. There is an app driven game called U Boat the Board Game by Phalanx (more Ameritrash than wargame), although I haven't played that one. They do offer a unique perspective on the weapon system. They are just too fiddly, and unfortunately, again few meaningful decisions. Steel Wolves and Silent War from Compass play very poorly on the table, but are acceptable on VASSAL. The new sub game GMT is working on looks a little better, as it at least has a tactical board. Very few meaningful decisions are made during a game, and most of those are obvious. The modern solo games on the subject are not really games - more like experience generators (although they have a rich theme, and still teach history). The game has one player secretly moving, while the other is managing a convoy and escorts.
